Why Does My Room Get No Air Flow?
This must be one of the most common asked questions by our customers. Very often your will notice that one, or more, rooms in your home get no air flow. Therefore, they do not get hot or cold on demand. Mostly you will find this issue as a results of a disconnected duct, or a duct that has holes in in, therefore, allowing the air to escape on the way to the room.
Why Is My Duct Ripped with Holes?
In most cases where we find ducts with holes in them it is due to rodents in the attic or inside the walls. It is a very common issue to find rodents eat through the insulation and the duct, then leaving feces inside the duct which could also lead to allergies, bad odor and illnesses.
In other cases we have found that by storing equipment in your attic or having different service techs inspecting the attic for various reasons, your ducts can get damaged. In addition, we have discovered ducts with burnt areas due to bad light fixtures and electrical issues.
Why would I Need To Replace My Air Ducts?
There are several reasons that would lead you to replace your air ducts. In some cases, as discussed before in the duct repair section, a duct repair alone would not solve the problem and could lead to your old ducts collapsing. Therefore, a new duct replacement is needed.
However, the most common reason we have seen for the past 20 years for duct replacement is due to asbestos. Many of the homes in Orange County are older and some still have the original ducts installed. These ducts are typically insulated with asbestos. Therefore, it is high recommended to replace your old asbestos insulated ducts with new ones.
